Mr. Tao (Thomas) Qu – President (current)

Tao currently holds a position of Strategic Improvement Manager at OPG Nuclear, after previously held Executive Office Manager, VBO Support Manager, Root Cause Analysis Section Manager, Sr. Officer – Performance Improvement, Sr. Engineer over 22 years. He received his M.Sc. and B.Eng. from the Chinese Academy of Science and Tsinghua University in 1987 and 1984, respectively, and M.Sc. from McMaster University in 1990.

Tao has actively involved in the creation and development of several major Chinese Canadian organizations in Canada since 1989, particularly the Chinese Professionals Association of Canada (CPAC), as the President 1998-2001 and Chairman 2003-2007, as a Member of United Way Chinese Leaders Council, the Vice-President of FCCM (Markham), and being an Advisor to several noble community organizations such as CICS. He has been recognized as a community leader by his passion, actions and results. He serves as the current President of Durham Chinese Canadian Culture Centre (DCCC).




Mr. Shengli Feng - Executive VP & Education Chair(current)

Shengli is currently working as a Senior Technical Engineer in Pickering Nuclear, Ontario Power Generation. His responsibilities include: preparing installation and commissioning workplans, writing technical procedures, project management and deal with contractor’s regarding technical issues. Shengli holds a Degree of Master of Science in Engineering

Shengli organized fundraising for Si Chuan earth quake in 2008 in OPG and interfaced with CPAC during the following events, and organized Chinese New Year dinner events for Chinese colleagues working power industry, including OPG, hydro One, NSS and AECL, in 2008, 2009 and 2010. He also organized Chinese New Year lunch in Pickering Nuclear in 2011 to promote Chinese culture in OPG. He is currently the Executive VP and Education Chair at DCCC.




Ms. Qin (Rachel) Li – Treasurer (current)

Currently Rachel is working in Shoppers Home Health Care. She has been working in accounting field for more than three years, also has ten years experience in payroll. I graduated from Jiangxi College of Electricity in 1990 and came to Canada in 2003. In2006-2008, she studied Business Accounting at Centennial College in Toronto. Rachel has the Post Secondary diploma with intent of pursuing an accounting designation. Rachel serves as the Treasure meanwhile at DCCC.







Mr. Richard Zhang – Chair of Recreation & Secretary General (current)

Richard is currently a senior process engineer at Gerdau Whitby, specialized in process control and development in steelmaking, ladle refining and casting operations. He worked as a Postdoctoral fellow at Queen’s University before joining Gerdau. He holds a doctoral degree in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering.

Richard served as the president of Chinese Students & Scholars Association at Queen’s University in 2000-2001, and organized a series of successful events for the Chinese community at Queen’s. He currently serves as the Secretary General and Chair of Recreation Program at DCCC.
